The Uintah Basin is ringed by BLM land with a network of unpaved roads and trails ranging from graded gravel to technical rocky routes. Cell service drops out quickly once you leave pavement, so download offline maps before heading out. Fuel up in town — there's nothing once you're in the backcountry. Spring and fall are the best seasons; summer is rideable but hot, and some routes close during winter snow and mud season.
